Something that is old Thursdays: Jazz Club (Fast Show, 1994)

Great.

Ahead of our own debut Jazz Club event, we use our weekly dose of nostalgia to laugh at the very concept via The Fast Show. The beloved sketch show re-wrote the rule book for its own genre, packing 25-odd comedy sketches into it’s 30 minute-length episodes on the BBC.

While doing so, they mocked those deeply ingrained within a genre of their own, with the Louis Balfour hosting the ‘Jazz Club.’ Running through a list of fictional cats with ridiculous names, John Thomson’s character would always reel off the superlatives. Nice.

So here’s a little clip from The Fast Show Jazz Club basically. Formidablè.
