Karl Brown of Tuff Jam releases new UK Garage compilation

Without Karl ‘Tuff Enuff’ Brown it really isn’t much of an overstatement to say that the wonderful world of UK Garage may not even exist, such was his essential influence and guidance back in the 90s alongside Matt ‘Jam’ Lamont as the celebrated duo Tuff Jam.
Over the past several years Karl has launched his label 2TUF4U, focussing on bringing back the groove and soul to a UK Garage world that can often lean towards the darker, more heads-down, side.

Musical Joose is a brand new 30 track release from the label that encompasses that soulful 90s UK Garage sound, however also has one foot firmly in the present moment too. With a solid mix of original productions and remixes it is an outrageously rewarding body of work, that touches on a wide spectrum of UK Garage and House inspired sounds.

Faith Is My Fire by Mad Tuff Project featuring Leanne Louise is definitely one of the standout tunes on the record, and you can instantly hear the unmistakeable groove and composition of the label boss, Brown. The trademark skippy 4×4 garage drums complement the soulful and jazzy chord work perfectly, whilst Leanne Louise, a rising star in her own right, provides classic vocals that takes the quality up even higher.

The release also features tracks from El-Tuff, the collaboration between Karl of Tuff Jam and El-B, alongside cuts courtesy of Fully Loaded Project (Todd Edwards and Karl Brown). Support has been flowing in from the likes of DJ Pioneer, Sammy Virji, Matt “Jam” Lamont and many more.

Musical Joose is available on Juno Download now, and will be hitting all other digital outlets on the 24thof July.
