It’s Brickcellphone’s Underground Rap Radar and an interview with BXKS.

Last time, we spoke with Feux, the versatile rapper who’s just dropped his first proper project. This week we’ve got a Q&A with BXKS. The new video for her tune Packed In! is jokes and very much tickled us. She’s got more new music coming soon so what better time to speak to her about a Skepta co-sign, Luton and eating rice at home?

Find all of the BURR interviews here and listen to Offie Mag Radio to hear some of these artists get some well-deserved airtime.

Alright, can you introduce yourself for anyone that hasn’t heard you yet?

Hiya, my names BXKS and I’m from Luton.

Who are some of your favourite artists at the minute?

Currently listening to a lot of Joe James, Kish! and Ragz Originale.

You’re from Luton init, what’s that like as a place to make music?

It’s decent. We have a lot of up-and-coming artists and a music platform called more2music that helps out local talent with shows and whatnot.

Your track Packed In! has been doing numbers on Spotify, can you tell us about the track?

Yeah sure. I was just chilling in my room going through loads of ‘type beats’ and eventually came across the Packed In! beat. It was originally a Drake type beat (looool)… but yeah I heard it and starting writing.

Your latest video is jokes, had me creasing! How’s it been received?

Thank you! The feedback has been good so I’m glad people are taking it in and enjoying it.

You collaborated with Capo Lee on his Why Not, Pt.3 tape. Quite a serious line-up on there, how did it feel to be a part of that?

It was a great experience, working with people I hadn’t met before. Everyone was really nice! Honourable shoutout to Capo Lee every time! It’s a Ting is defo a personal favourite – that song features myself, Kamakaze and Crafty, I liked the beat. It was raw and it was a one take, i feel like we all delivered well on that song.

Your Next Up freestyle on Mixtape Madness is a bit crazy! It received praise from the likes of Skepta, what was that like?

Yeah haha, I remember that day so clearly as well, I was eating breakfast and he had tweeted me, it was kinda surreal coz anyone that knows me knows Skepta is my all time fav!

It was nice to receive feedback from such a major artist coz at the time I didn’t have much out, so it was really appreciated.

What have you got coming up, any projects?!

I can’t say too much, but I have some more music and videos dropping very soon! Keep a look out.

Where’s your favourite breakfast spot in Luton?

For as long as I’ve lived in Luton I have never gone to any breakfast spot lmao. As my mum would say: ‘there is rice at home.’

Anything else you’d like to add, shout outs, thank yous, a quote from your favourite book, anything goes!

Shoutout all the upcoming artists doing their thing. Keep going.

Imma go to the Offie real quick, can I get you anything?

And nah I’m good thanks…
