JAZZ IN AN ICONIC MODERNIST PAVILION? DON’T MIND IF WE DO.

Festivals are approaching and on the second Bank Holiday Weekend of May, jazz is coming to Bexhill.

More specifically, it’s coming to Bexhill and their iconic De Lar Warr Pavilion. Built in 1932, the modernist marvel will host the likes of London jazz movers Steam Down and Sussex’s own Yadasofi. EMERGENCE, the festival in question, is running all weekend on the coast as of Thursday May 27th.

EMERGENCE grew out of The Cockpit’s contemporary jazz programming. For seven years Jazz In The Round has been proud to be part of London jazz, presenting, recording, and broadcasting the stream of evolving talent supported superbly by initiatives like The Total Refreshment Centre (as featured in ISSUE SEVEN), Jazz Refreshed, Steam Down and running stages at Love Supreme, Kings Place, and The Roundhouse.

We’re gonna be there with a bagful of camera film and a head full of jazz, no doubt. You can get rather modestly priced tickets via the EMERGENCE website.
