Allexa Nava & Hutch Live at Alphabet for Independent Venue Week 2026

Some great jazz is coming to Brighton nice and early in 2026.

Allexa Nava and Hutch are set to bring their boundary-pushing sounds to Alphabet on January 29th for what’s shaping up to be a real standout of Independent Venue Week 2026.

Allexa Nava, who Offie Mag readers voted as Readers' Project of the Year for her 2025 debut No Language, is a flautist, saxophonist and composer with roots in classical jazz and eyes fixed firmly on the future. She's been selected as a Future Bubbler by Brownswood for the year ahead.

Joining her on the bill is Brighton’s own Hutch — a pianist, arranger, vocalist and occasional rapper known for his improvised sets and unfiltered songwriting. His 2025 release Never Like the First Time hinted at the depth he’s capable of. Those familiar with Brighton’s scene already know how special this one could be.

The show comes courtesy of Basics, a grassroots promoter building a rep for curating interdisciplinary events across the city. This will be their first of the year, and follows ten consecutive sold-out shows.
