London-via-Accra artist BLACK FONDU presents his seven-track debut EP BLACKFONDUISM — a first full statement from one of the UK’s most uncompromising new voices. Building on the underground momentum of singles ‘im not sleeping’ and ‘holla back girl’, the project arrives as a raw and fearless introduction to what comes next.
Recorded between his bedroom in London and a short trip to Paris, each track captures a moment he could only understand by living through it. His process is instinct-led, mostly freestyling and allowing emotion to dictate direction. Working entirely alone has brought challenges, but it has also sharpened his self-belief.
“I care so much and would die for this, but I cannot let it kill me. I have to trust myself the same way I trust myself when I make music.”
At just 21, BLACK FONDU is shaping a sound that collides rap, hyperpop and noise into something volatile, personal and completely his own. With full control over writing, production, performance and visuals, he’s building a world that can expand as far as his vision allows.
Alongside the EP comes a self-directed video for closing track ‘#music’, a piece that distills the entire project into one stark statement. Watch below.
BLACKFONDUISM marks the beginning of an artist evolving in real time. Abrasive and tender, chaotic and meticulous, a voice emerging that refuses to sit still.
