Good morning, good morning and what a morning it is. Why you may ask? It’s because Bubba Janko is back with new music.
The UK’s most ethereal geezer releases ‘BANG MY HEAD’, inspired by a drug-induced seizure that altered the trajectory of his life forever. A deconstructed club odyssey: introspective, gritty, and filled with dread.
Produced by Bubba in collaboration with Tokyo-based electronic wizard Lapsung, it complements the hushed, strained vocals with a minimal beat and pads that swell around your ears. Like slipping into a drug-induced trance, listening to ‘BANG MY HEAD’ leaves you lost inside it. The repeated “head trauma” serves as a stark reminder of what Bubba has endured and how his past continues to shape the direction of his art.
The release arrives alongside a video directed by Naya Daydream, translating the track’s brooding atmosphere into shadowy, fragmented visuals that blur reality with hallucination. Stark lighting, disorienting cuts, and surreal imagery pull viewers further into the same uneasy headspace the song conjures.
