Starting 2025 off with a bang, Footshooter releases 'Cycles', featuring James Mollison of the Mercury Prize winning jazz ensemble Ezra Collective.
This jazzy, broken beat odyssey sets the stage for his forthcoming album, The Oasis, arriving on 11th April.
Starting life as a loop, 'Cycles' evolves and expands in scope and sense of space. Footshooter managed to catch James Mollison in the studio for a few hours while he was on a break from touring. Mollison effortlessly laid down his saxophone parts, with Footshooter describing his tone and ease of playing as “pure magic.”
Footshooter’s production style draws from broken beat, jazz, house, and beyond. Collaborating with rappers and poets, he creates a soulful, modern sound that stays rooted in the feelings of the past. Mollison’s saxophone performance adds vibrant colour and depth, perfectly complementing the track’s energy.
Released through Brighton based Label Tru Thoughts you can listen to and buy Cycles here.
