From earphones to mosh pits: kwes e unleashes 'off topic'

Can I get a vowel, please, Rachel?

kwes e has had us 'juggin' in the summer, 'juggin on an autumn evening', and now, with off topic, the Escape Plan rapper has us juggin into the winter months, too.

Following up his 2023 dance-infused EP b4 my fingers crossed (a Radio Wan favourite) with singles 'juggin' and 'juggin on an autumn evening'—the former's music video gaining real traction on YouTube—we’ve seen kwes e delve deeper into the sonics of jerk. This sub-genre, seemingly popping up more and more as artists strive for fresh sounds, feels like a fitting backdrop for his latest work. Collaborating with YT on 'hausfrau' and 'all in', another artist riding this US underground wave, kwes e continues to explore and expand his range.

The project begins and ends on introspective notes: 'dreamer' and 'juggin on an autumn evening' feel more suited to your earphones on a wintry walk home than to venue speakers in a chaotic mosh pit. Yet, the majority of the 11 tracks will have you moving, evoking late-noughties and early-2010s vibes in the best possible way.

Listen to off topic here.
