HEADS KNOW Launches Fund for Underground Creatives

New York-based party and cultural platform HEADS KNOW has announced the launch of the HEADS KNOW FUND, a new initiative designed to support independent artists, journalists and promoters across underground electronic music and hip-hop.

Founded by culture journalist and curator Arielle Lana LeJarde, HEADS KNOW has built its name on documenting untold stories and preserving modern music history from the ground up. Now, it’s moving from documentation to direct action.

At least 10% of net profits from HEADS KNOW’s ticketed events, merch and music sales will go directly into the fund, with additional donations accepted via PayPal. Grant applications are set to open soon.

“In the last several years… I noticed so many of our pioneers launching GoFundMes,” LeJarde says. “There should be a pool of money ready to help our elders before it’s too late.”

“I also want to use this fund to help freelance culture journalists and independent promoters because I know first-hand how tough it is to survive. Music history is a pillar of HEADS KNOW, and we’d also be nothing without our community.”

It’s a simple but overdue intervention. Scenes don’t run on vibes alone. They run on labour, often underpaid and underprotected.

The HEADS KNOW FUND is an attempt to show up for the people who built the culture, while they’re still here.

While rooted in NYC, the fund is not geographically restricted — support will extend to communities wherever it’s needed. Learn more and donate via headsknow.party.
