New York DJ Lovie to make Brighton debut at Big Ears event

New York-based DJ and staple of the city’s nightlife, Lovie is set to make her Brighton debut this March.

Big Ears return to Waterbear Music Bar on 14th March 2026, sticking with a format that feels right: live band into DJ. It worked last time — so they’re running it back.

On live duties is Allexa Nava, Offie Mag Readers’ Project of the Year winner, performing alongside Emile Hinton. A London-based Peruvian saxophonist, flautist and bandleader, Nava has been steadily carving out her own lane — from Tomorrow’s Warriors to her debut release No Language on Jazz re:freshed. In a duo setting, expect something intimate but expansive.

Then comes Lovie.

We’ve caught her at We Out Here's Love Dancin' tent before — a set that was one of the highlights of the weekend. And if not in a field, then listeners may have heard Lovie almost every other fortnight via a YouTube tab open to The Lot Radio. Her Summer School Radio selections connect dots between soul, house, jazz and the in-between spaces, often exploring the history and importance of Black music on air, on socials and in sets.
