OFFIE MAG'S MUSIC OF THE MONTH: MARCH 2026

For years, we used to run Offie Mag's Music of the Month on the streaming platform with the green logo. But we are taking a professional break from that particular platform for political reasons.

We don't need their algorithmic, artificially intelligent, low-royalty platform that marginalises independent musicians and focuses on profit-driven procedures that have undoubtedly homogenised music consumption, in order to curate some good music to listen to.

We're Offie Mag, and we'd much rather share music in a way that encourages tangible support for independent music.

So, here are some of our favourite independently released songs and projects from March and beyond, with links to buy them - or listen to them... elsewhere.

Willem Mulder - Our Secrets

An Apron Records release that makes you want to two-step and shake your head in your kitchen. Steven Julien’s 808 Prince Club Flip will result in smashed plates.

System Olympia - Double Climax LP

After her stunning compilation at the end of last year, System Olympia is back with new original material. Double Climax LP toes the line between the club and a long coastal stroll.

ELIZA - The Darkening Green

One of the UK’s most recognisable voices, with her first music since the release of her astounding 2022 album, A Sky Without Stars. ELIZA do lots.

Shy One - Mali

A long and illustrious career has led to this. Crafted alongside a powerful cast of Black British collaborators, her production and storytelling combine to great effect on this Touching Bass release.

Barrell Jones x Nubya Garcia - The Bredrins

Talent endorsed and trusted by Binker Golding, Sons of Kemet, Joe Armon-Jones, Obongjayar and Nubya Garcia. The South East London-based drummer, producer, DJ, and composer has been steadily killing it, and we’re absolutely chuffed he’s started releasing music.

Kojaque - Antihistamine

Nobody quite does ‘dress-up’ like Kojaque. Here we see the Dublin artist as a giant cockroach for a music video that’s brilliantly typical of a Soft Boy Records release.

Mia Koden - Bittersweet

Mia Koden’s use of big heavy bass combined with softer and smoother sounds has created four tracks that have already been played in the club and will continue to do so.

Jawnino, Deer park - Melancholia

Osgood was good but Jawnino is the best. A London-New York connection that doesn’t cost the Earth. In fact, it’s $2 on Bandcamp and features YT.

Brad Stank - All Is Well

I’m not wishing my life away, but I can’t wait to play Brad Stank’s discography in 50 years time on the first sunny Bank Holiday of 2076 with my grandkids.

MIKE, Earl Sweatshirt & SURF GANG - POMPEII // UTILITY

Earl and MIKE have always pushed the boat out — and climbed aboard it too. Even the idea of a “joint album” gets challenged here: MIKE leads Disc 1, Earl leads Disc 2, while SURF GANG steer the sound - and, in turn, the direction of the underground itself.

Samba-Jean Baptiste - +3

Which part of this 44 minute and 12 seconds of beautifully crafted, delicately written and intentionally recorded project are we gonna clip for TikTok, though?

JWords - LUSH

If JWords is playing in the club, get another drink. You’re in the right place. LUSH is a new single that sees the New Jersey producer go fully into dance music mode, and an album’s coming in May.

lovetempo - Thinking About You

Taken from a whole project, ‘There Is A Light,’ that emerges in April, the sheer warmth of this record will remind you what summer could feel like.

Oakland - dubs - iii

Oakland is back. The third edition of his dub series completes a mellow grime hat-trick that rivals even Luis Suárez’s against Norwich. I could listen to ‘rain down’ every day for the rest of my life, and maybe I will.

32Burden - CAT4ME 2

The first time was so nice… you know the rest. The Cov rapper avoids the sequel curse, in under ten minutes he takes you on a trip through his musical identity, complete with a feature from Big YS.

Mercury - Kiss My Ass

One of Atlanta’s finest gives us a club-ready banger, her flow and delivery feel trademark. ‘Kiss My Ass’ looks like the start of another run for gold from Merc.

Luchï - Mink Coat

Another underground rapper from Essex? Surely not. Nothing fake about this ‘Mink Coat’ though, it’s the real deal. Self-assured raps over a self-produced beat, Luchii is well worth the listen.
