Peckham Palais to return in February 2026

The Night Group – responsible for Night Tales, NT’s Loft, and Netil 360 – are reopening what was once one of south London’s most recognisable nightspots. This February, Peckham Palais will once again open its doors to the public: a home for music, expression, and community south of the river.

Set within the former 19th-century Jones & Higgins department store, Palais reimagines the three-storey landmark as an intimate, independent venue devoted to a contemporary sonic experience.

Palais will feature a 500-capacity club in its basement, fitted with a Funktion-One five-way system, tuned precisely to the space; it is the only installation of its kind in a venue of this scale. Engineered for complete immersion, sound is Palais’ priority: with phones covered on entry, the focus is placed on the dancefloor and the moments that are born from it.

The programming will continue the diverse, eclectic lineups The Night Group are known for, showcasing the best in both local and global talent. Co-founder Jamie Rule had this to say:

“Palais is about being present. It’s a space to listen, to dance freely, and to connect. We’ve been developing the sound system for over a year — we wanted to create something that moves through you. With infra bass, you can feel it, not just hear it. Now we want to see what people do with the space.”

The venue’s first floor offers a different vibe. The Ballroom will serve as an early evening, seated, and ambient setting geared towards a more social atmosphere, transforming as the night goes on into a DJ-led second room, created in collaboration with Fare Inc. It features custom furnishings and a colour palette carefully curated to create the perfect mood.

A live room dedicated to events and performances will follow at a later date. This will bring the building’s total capacity to 1,000 and, with a license until 6am, music will flow across all three floors from dusk until dawn.

This reopening comes at a crucial time for London’s nightlife. With more venues closing their doors, the return of Palais is a welcome revival — one that will hopefully energise the surrounding scene and provide the city’s community with an experience for years to come.
