Artist, dancer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and Offie Mag issue eleven cover star Sofie Royer announces her third album, Young-Girl Forever, set for release on November 15th via Stones Throw Records.

Young-Girl Forever paints a bold portrait of the contradictions of being a female artist today – with all of its anarchist freedoms and capitalist trappings.

WIth the album announcement Sofie gives us another single ‘Young-Girl (Illusion)’ a song conceptually about how a girl draws power from wearing rabbit fur coats and the accompanying video, co-directed by Sofie and Grégoire Léon-Dufour, begins with Sofie attending a party and ends with her running for her life, covered in blood, while wearing a bunny costume.

As the artist herself puts it: “Instead of clinging tightly to what you perceive as correct – or even real – I think sometimes you just have to turn the lights off and surrender.” And this is present in her music and her videos as we start to see a more surreal sheen to her output.
