Space Ghost takes L Lewis’ 'Undertow' into orbit

Melbourne bandleader and composer L Lewis links up with Oakland producer Space Ghost for a remix of ‘Undertow’ — a standout from Lewis’ recent EP Intervals. The original was already a gem, but Space Ghost’s rework lifts it into another zone.

He drops the tempo into a steady chug, layering in his trademark mix of ‘80s funk minimalism and analog boogie. With crisp house drums, glowing synths, and basslines full of warmth, he brings a cosmic energy to L Lewis’ palette of nu jazz, electronica, and ambient textures.

Intervals itself was pieced together across three sessions, weaving natural soundscapes, spiritual jazz, and improvisation into a project that blurs the lines between jazz, ambient, and electronica. This remix doesn’t just slot in — it expands the world Lewis has already built.

What you get is more than a remix. It's a bridge between underground scenes on opposite sides of the world, showcasing two artists constantly evolving and pushing their sounds further.
