Stacy N.K.R. and oakland release their first collaboration, ‘cosmetic’. Initially teased on 1Xtra last summer, the track now sees its official release. It’s everything you’d expect from the South London MC and one of Mellow Grime’s key figures.

Stacy delivers a smooth, self-assured flow that perfectly complements oakland’s silky production. His signature chilled-out grime sound blends seamlessly with more downtempo rhythms. The percussion is sparse, but that shaker brings a nostalgic touch. Horns crescendo and flare as Stacy builds the track, adding depth and drama.

This one really has my head knocking, it’s surprising that this is their first time working together, as the chemistry is undeniable. It feels like an exciting moment for both artists: Stacy is gearing up to release her debut project, while oakland continues to stretch his production beyond Grime.
