You can do a lot in 10 minutes. You can call your mother—she probably misses you. You can keep your Duolingo streak alive. You could even read part of an Offie Mag. But what I suggest you make ten minutes for is Vayda’s Put Your Clothes On.
Vayda’s back after a 2024 that saw her drop Fever with ATTNWHORE, as well as Vaytrix—two projects that were thoroughly enjoyed by all of us here—and she’s showing no signs of slowing down. It’s as energetic and chaotic as ever, with her jumping from jerk to trap to drill like it’s nothing. ‘Sad Girl’ and ‘Star of the Story’ bookend the project as her own production contributions. She’s been producing since middle school and has self-produced throughout her career so far, but as she brings in more guest producers, she’s finding new ways to attack the beat.
Coming from a suburb of Atlanta and growing up during the city’s peak in global cultural relevance, you can hear how she’s absorbed its influences and spun them into something entirely her own. You can’t compare it to trap—it is its own thing. And I’m happy we get to hear more of it.
You can stream Put Your Clothes On here.
