SIP O' THAT is where Offie Mag writers get down 50 words or less about the best new independent music.
Tasked with our short music reviews this time is Louis 'Wachuwan' Rowland, whose picks you will find on the latest update to our Music of the Month playlist.
Louis Culture - I Can’t Wait To See You Again
That ache or excitement that everyone should be blessed to experience. After a quick rollout out, Louis returns with his first project since 2022. Never one to shy away from opening his soul to his audience you’ll relate more to the South London artist than you ever have before.
MIKE & Tony Seltzer - Pinball
Just a couple of Underground Kingz getting buddy-buddy like it’s Lethal Weapon. With stand-out appearances from Earl Sweatshirt and Jay Critch, Pinball is an uptempo turn and it has had me bouncing off the walls like the Microsoft Start Menu classic since its release.
ayrtn - Naomi
Like the iconic runway star ayrtn struts his stuff all over this tn_490 beat, taking us on a trip to the Big Apple where you will hear one of the most respected in the underground boast that his girl is as bad as Naomi Campbell. You might find that hard to believe but I’m certainly not going to question it. Just keep the bangers coming.
The South Hill Experiment - South Hill and Friends.
“The S.H.E. calls bullshit on your careful rollout, and asks you remember what you love about music… The most exciting time to make music is always right now.” Taken right from The South Hill Experiment manifesto so, if it feels good do it, and if it sounds good why not release it to the world.
Deema - BERRYGRAPE
Is a grape a berry? If you really look into it you’ll find that pretty much everything is a berry. Well this new one from Deema is nuts. As always he is going dumb whether he’s beating it up like Baby Keem or describing himself as a tripod. Bonus points because I love a cowbell.
Jawnino - Lost My Brain
With 40 on the way, Jawnino has gone into overdrive. He’s already given us a video and extended cut of cult classic It’s Cold Out and with Lost My Brain, the faceless man is again leaving us wanting more. This will stay heavy in my rotation for some time.
Oscar #Worldpeace - Heaven (feat. Qendressa)
Since late last year, Oscar has been dropping singles off of his next tape Mum Pray For Your Son and God, Heaven is angelic. Vocal runs all over this silked beat which invites the Tottenham-born rapper to bless us with nothing short of excellence.
Chyna Streetz, 183rd - From Hell To Chanel
We have seen the rise of single-producer projects over the last few years and From Hell To Chanel is another that proves that sometimes you only need one cook in the kitchen to make something tasty. Chyna is as unapologetically honest as ever and a guest dish from Rome Streetz is certainly a highlight. Will be eating here again.
Florence Sinclair - now & then
Singer, rapper, and producer Florence Sinclair provides raw and introspective verses over a beat made up of beautiful samples and glitchy drums that will intrigue upon first listen. An artist who is as mysterious as they are talented, now & then is a portal into their world.
