Trellion remerges alongside Danny Lover on surprise new album, ‘Ok, the fire’

Elusive underground rap artist Trellion has paired up with his Canadian contemporary and cousin, Danny Lover for a surprise new album.

‘Ok, the fire’ is out on Bad Taste, the label who put out Trellion & Sniff’s catalogue, as well as Trellion’s last official release, Lighthouse Tape in 2015. After a prolific period as part of Cult Mountain at the end of the 2010s, it was widely understood that Trellion had retired, with Reddit thread rumours suggesting he was now running an Italian restaurant in Sheffield.

Such lore goes hand in hand with Trellion’s career, whilst Danny Lover, who was the first North American artist to release under UK label Blah Records, has culminated a similar cult of personality via a few years of high-quality releases, mixed with radio silence.

Ok, the fire sees the duo address some of the speculation about their whereabouts, whilst getting off curious one-liners and hypotheticals over beats that chug along elegantly like a declassified, First Class Thameslink carriage.
