So Vegyn has released the first track from their forthcoming album, The Road To Hell Is Pathed With Good Intentions - 'The Path Less Travelled'.
It's a fitting name, right? We're talking about a producer who, perhaps through avoiding any pigeonholes, has remained somewhat of an underground enigma, whilst still building an avid listenership that's constantly growing.
At the time of blogging, the top comment on the YouTube video for this track reads 'you know that feeling when you discover a new album and you immediately know it's going to change your life. thank you vegyn, can’t wait for your sophomore LP.' That's not the sort of comment the rapper at the end of your street gets when they drop their latest 'This Is My Year' single.
Vegyn's label, PLZ MAKE IT RUINS attracts fandom of it's own and rightly so. John Glacier's brilliant debut SHILOH: Lost For Words was released by the imprint - a cutting-edge triumph that once again commands an audience but stays authentic, glitchy and true to itself. You get the feeling that the output from Vegyn and his label would be the exact same, even if there weren't friendly YouTube users spurring them on. For that reason, I'm looking forward to The Road To Hell Is Pathed With Good Intentions when it arrives on April 5th.
