The first Offie Mag Radio show of 2022 went out last week, and we took it back to the seventies. Nowt but 1970s jazz and jazz fusion from the likes of @bobbihumphrey, @lonnielistonsmith and more.

THE LOST ART OF THE STAYCATION:

‘Where can you go to these days and get a good shepherds pie? Even a pie shop don’t do a shepherds pie. I think it’s on it’s way out, bro. I think in 20 years time they’ll talk about shepherds pie like it’s from the fucking 1800s.’

The first Monday of the year is a Bank Holiday. That’s got to be a good omen right?

Every interview’s different and in 2021, we did a whole lot of different interviews. Sometimes you know exactly what you want to talk about and stick to it. But sometimes, a tangent goes on and on, and eventually, the feature you thought you were writing turns into something way more quality, way more unique, and that’s down to the unique quality of all these artists that we’ve been chatting with.

You lot. Allow us to use this gooch period between Christmas and New Year’s to give thanks. Thanks to everyone who showed up to an Offie Mag event in 2021, the year when it came back.

With no VIP section backstage, no press area, no minimum amount of plays needed to be on its eclectic line-up, @brainchildfest, like mud, is the great leveller. If you’re an artist that’s likely to get upset about having no green room, or a ticket-buyer that’s gonna let having wet shins stop you from enjoying the return of music festivals, then you’re probably not gonna wind up here in Uckfield anyway.

‘twas a Friday night not too unlike this evening when we saw @ebisoda take to stage at @rialtotheatre. There was a little less Omicron in the air and a lot more optimism, what with weird, live and quite cheap jazz gigs being back n that.

For ISSUE SIX we caught up with @skoowup in Peckham, where the rapper let us into the studio to see her creative process firsthand.

@mikelikesrap wrapped up his run of UK shows last night in London. A run that started right here in Brighton, and boy were you lot inside Rialto Theatre magical.

We went in the loft looking for tinsel and found some Offie Mag Xmas Hats from our legendary 2019 Christmas party with @tinfoilfronts.

We had such a nice time in Bexhill for ISSUE EIGHT that we printed it on the back of a t-shirt. The ISSUE EIGHT t-shirt, that is, featuring the Art Deco, Modernist wonder that is the De La Warr Pavillion. Some place to see some jazz in.

Most artists do countless hometown shows before they even get a chance to play elsewhere on this weird island. But not @bxksintokyo.
